This is our pick for the best beginning beading book available. Written by local bead instructor Kathy Shomo, it reads like Kathy is standing there right behind you, guiding you step by step through each technique. And it covers the usage of just about every finding and stringing technique there is, from bead caps to toggle clasps. And while it does not have color pictures, pick up a copy of Stringing or Bead Style magazines for inspiration, the illustrations are clear, concise and easy to follow.
Kathy Shomo has been instructing novice beaders for over 15 years at venues such as local libraries, women's groups and each summer in Chautauqua. Kathy resides in Pittsburgh.
