Soutache Trim Earrings

Our popular soutache class in a new format....earrings!   Students will create beautiful, light-weight art earrings ala Israeli artist Dori Czengeri using soutache, a sewing trim, cabs and a relatively few beads.   You will love them!!

 

Skill level:   all

Materials:   Small kit (payable to instructor) includes focals, backing and Lacy's.   Students will need to purchase soutache and accent beads (available at CBB.)

Ever want to try your hand at making glass beads without having  to invest a lot of time (and money) taking an instensive class?   Here is the answer for you!   Terry Edgar of FlameSong Beads has been teaching beginners the basics of flame work using hot head torches in her Ohio studio, and has agreed to bring her show on the road here at Crystal Bead Bazaar.   First and most importantly, safety will be discussed.   Students will then learn to make a basic round bead, then graduate on to various shapes and decorating and embellishing techniques.

 

This class will be limited to 6 students.

Handmade Wire Findings

Monday, October 11th and Tuesday, Oct.12th, 6:30-9 both evenings

$55 plus materials

 

A new format for a popular class!   We have added a second night to cover more material.   Students will learn about the basic properties of wire while creating their own findings.   Items to be made will include headpins, earwires, ear hoops, hook-and-eye clasps and more!

 

Skill level:   all

Materials:   various gauges sterling or copper wire.   Bring your pliers (cutters, round nose, flat nose) to class.

Pick Your Peyote Bracelet

Students will choose one of Hannah's many beautiful patterns, then learn to read both a work chart and a graph.   Also discussed will be a nifty little technique called 'fast peyote'.

 

Please note: students will not complete project during class.

 

Skill level:   Intermediate.   Students should know even count peyote

Materials:   Delicas.   Amount and colors will be determined by student's choice of pattern.   The pattern is included in the class fee.

Ndebele Crystal Cables Bracelet

Saturday, October 23rd,  2:30-5:30

$45 plus materials

Students will learn flat herringbone stitch, then learn to add crystal to it.   Once that has been mastered, students will then add a twist.

 

Please note:   students will not complete project during class.

 

Skill level:   Intermediate.   Students should be comfortable working with seed beads.   Knowledge of herringbone stitch helpful.

Garden Passions Lariet Necklace

Ruffled peyote stitch and a wonderful netted rope enhance a Swarovski oval stone, which is then edged in fringe.   Beautiful!

 

Please note:   Students will not complete project during class.

There is a homework assignment for this class.   Don't worry, it is very easy.   Students will need to pre-string their beads for the netted rope.   We will give you the details when you sign up.

 

Skill level:   Intermediate.   Students must know even count flat peyote stitch.

Pearl Knotting

Monday, October 25th, 6:30-9

$35 plus materials

 

Come learn the time honored technique of pearl knotting, the traditional method of stringing pearls.   Knotting is a wonderful method of enhancing any beaded necklace, and lends a fluid drape which cannot be had by simply stringing.   The various ways to finish a knotted piece will also be discussed.

Materials:   A strand of pearls (or other beads) to knot, plus the appropriate string, all available at CBB
