Bead Crochet

In this popular class, students will learn how to do slip stitch crochet in the round with seed beads to create a supple beaded rope.   Learning the basic stitch using a pre-strung 'starter' will enable students to first grasp the fundamentals of the stitch.   After everyone is comfortable in crocheting with beads, students will then string their own chosen colors and learn how to begin the crochet, which can be confusing.   If you have tried to learn bead crochet and failed, try our method!!

Handmade Wire Findings

This class is fun!!   Students will learn about the basic properties of wire while creating their own findings.   Items to be made include headpins, earwires, hook-and-eye clasps and more!

Peyote Stitch Workshop

Saturday, March 13th, 11-5

$65 plus materials

 

In this all day workshop, students will be introduced to all facets of peyote stitch, probably the most popular of all the off loom beading techniques.   Once students master flat even count peyote, the class will move on to tubular, spiral, and peyote in the round.   Also addressed will be the more difficult odd count peyote, and graph reading.

Please note that this is a workshop teaching techniques.   Students will not create a finished piece of jewelry, although the samples made can be worked on later and made into bracelets or necklaces.

Materials:   various sizes and colors of seed beads.   Bring a task light if desired.

Learn how easy it is to make tubes from pure silver PMC, then set colorful, dazzling cubic zirconia in the ends, to be fired right in place in the metal clay. Leave them as-is for tiny charms, or incorporate them as the focal points of slightly larger fine silver earrings. Great beginner project!

Making Memories Jewelry Workshop

In this new workshop, students will use a variety of media to create one-of-a-kind, indie-style jewelry components.   Among the techniques covered will be sealing photos in jewelry blanks with resin, hammering words in metal blanks with letter stamps, soldering 'frames' for pictures, ITS transfer, and more!

Materials:   small photos or pictures to glue into blanks.

All Things Spiral Workshop

In this workshop, we will explore seed beading techniques which create spiraling ropes of beads, which can be used on their own, as neckchains for pendants, or further embellished as desired.   Among the techniques taught will be Spiral Rope, Dutch Spiral, Russian Spiral, and Spiral Herringbone.

This is a techniques workshop.   Students will create samples of the various stitches, not complete pieces of jewelry.   The samples can, if desired, be built upon later to make them into necklaces or bracelets.

Materials:   various sizes and colors seed beads (mainly 11's and 8's)   Bring a task light if desired.

PMC Beaded Worry Ring

Don't miss out on this popular workshop, with one of the coolest projects around!   Make an amazing silver ring with a band of beads that turn round and round the shank.   With Precious Metal Clay (PMC), it's easier than it looks.   Learn how to create an accurately sized PMC ring, then embellish it after firing with a band of woven seed beads.   This class is limited to 6 students.

 

Skill level:   Some PMC experience helpful, but not necessary

Come learn Kumihimo, a Japanese weaving technique traditionally used to make obi sashes.   In this class, students will use a kumihimo wheel, swarovski crystals, and S-lon thread to create a bracelet which looks like bead crochet, but much easier.

Bead Embroidered Soft Cuff Bracelet

In this popular class, students will learn how to capture a cabochon with peyote stitch, then embellish it by employing a back stitching technique to 'paint with beads'.   The bracelet will then be backed with ultra suede, finished with a modified brick stitch,  and be ready for a clasp.

This is one of our most popular classes!   You know the peyote stitch....are you ready to take it to the next level?   In this class, students will use various sizes, shapes, colors and finishes of seed beads to create a one-of-a-kind bracelet that will curve, curl and delight!   Embellish it further with beads, pearls and crystals!

In this fun class, students will use a heavy gauge wire to fashion a cuff bracelet while learning the properties of wire.   This free form bracelet will then be embellished with beads using a thinner gauge wire.

PMC Paste Leaf Pendant

PMC is a wonderful way of reproducing natural forms in fine silver, simply by coating leaves, twigs,
and other objects with PMC paste, then burning off the organic material in the kln and leaving just the
fine silver behind. In this workshop, learn how to build up layers of PMC to turn a real leaf into a fine
silver pendant, with all the lovely detail of the original.
